2024 Fantasy Outlook
A 2024 sixth-round pick, Vidal joins a Chargers backfield with minimal experience beyond ex-Ravens Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins. The rookie out of Troy has traits that should appeal to new Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Greg Roman, as Vidal was tough to bring down in college and took 297 carries for 1,661 yards and 14 TDs last season alone. He's not especially elusive, but he showed potential in the passing game with at least 18 receptions in each of his four seasons at Troy, and he earned praise from both coaches and scouts for his pass blocking. Vidal's combination of bulk (5-8, 213) and speed (4.46 40) makes him far more interesting for fantasy than a typical sixth-round pick, especially within the context of a Chargers offense that's looking to run the ball more often despite having a shaky group of veteran RBs.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Uphill battle to make roster
RBLos Angeles Chargers
May 8, 2025
Vidal appears unlikely to make the Chargers' roster out of camp in 2025, per Daniel Popper of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Teams usually carry three running backs, which leaves Vidal competing for the last spot with Hassan Haskins, as rookie first-round pick Omarion Hampton and free-agent signing Najee Harris are viewed as roster locks. Haskins is better positioned to contribute in a depth role, as he played the third-most special teams snaps on the Chargers last season. Vidal will need to have a strong camp just to give himself a chance to beat out Haskins.
