2025 Fantasy Outlook
Juszczyk appeared to be a salary cap casualty when San Francisco released the fullback this past March. The team quickly reversed course and re-signed the franchise staple to a two-year contract just days after releasing him. The 34-year-old generated 226 yards from scrimmage and three total touchdowns in 2024, numbers simply not good enough for fantasy managers forced to play Juszczyk at the running back position. RANKS
Won't return vs. New Orleans
Juszczyk has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Saints due to a concussion, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
ANALYSIS
Juszczyk was evaluated on the sidelines after taking a hit to the head in the first half of Sunday's game, and the veteran fullback has been diagnosed with a concussion. He will not be allowed to return to Sunday's game, and he'll have to pass the league's five-step concussion protocol in order to play in Week 3 against the Cardinals on Sunday, Sept. 21. Juszczyk is the only fullback on the 49ers' active roster, but tight ends Luke Farrell, Jake Tonges or Brayden Willis could be deployed as a backfield blocker for the rest of Sunday's contest.

Juszczyk continued his dominance at the fullback position in 2022, earning his seventh straight Pro Bowl selection (even scored a touchdown in the game). The 32-year-old received 26 touches for 226 yards with a rushing and receiving touchdown over 16 games. Those numbers could not compete if played in the RB slot in fantasy, which is why Juszczyk only provides massive value to the 49ers and not fantasy managers.

ANALYSIS
Juszczyk is looking for a new home after being released by the 49ers on Monday. The standout fullback has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of the past nine seasons. Pittsburgh would be a logical fit for Juszczyk as a perennial playoff contender that likes to play the kind of run-first, smashmouth football that utilizes the fullback position.
