2024 Fantasy Outlook
Parsons set a new career high with 14.0 sacks last year, but he's been arguably the most consistent pass rusher in the NFL since being drafted 12th overall in 2021, producing 13.0 sacks as a rookie and 13.5 in 2022. Former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn lined him up all over the field looking for mismatches, but it's not yet clear how new DC Mike Zimmer plans to deploy Parsons, or whether the scheme change will have an impact on his numbers. The 25-year-old edge rusher's elite athleticism should allow him to thrive no matter how he's used, however. Read Past Outlooks
Big finish to 2024 season
Parsons recorded four tackles, including 2.5 sacks, in Sunday's loss to the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year linebacker put an exclamation mark at the end of another impressive season. Despite missing four games due to a high-ankle sprain, Parsons still finished the year with 12.0 sacks in 13 appearances, the fourth straight campaign in which he's racked up a dozen sacks or more. Hall of Famer Reggie White is the only other player in NFL history to start his career with four straight seasons of 12-plus sacks. Parsons is heading into the final year of his rookie contract in 2025, and getting him signed to an extension likely will be the Cowboys' top priority this offseason.

2023
2022
2021
Since being selected with the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Parsons has emerged as one of the most dynamic defensive players in the league, racking up 26.5 sacks in his first 33 games for Dallas without even being a full-time pass rusher. Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn sees the value in keeping offenses guessing by lining Parsons up all over the formation and using him in different roles, and while that makes the 24-year-old's ultimate statistical output tough to predict, his main job for the Cowboys will still be to terrorize quarterbacks.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Laments McCarthy exit
Parsons said Tuesday during his appearance on Bleacher Report's "The Edge" podcast that he was "obviously very sad" that the Cowboys didn't retain Mike McCarthy as their head coach heading into the 2025 season.
ANALYSIS
Parsons noted that McCarthy's departure is "devastating," due to the positive relationship he felt the long-tenured coach had with the players. Dallas was besieged by injuries throughout the 2024 season, which certainly played a part in the team's disappointing 7-10 record. Parsons was one of the key players who missed multiple games, in his case due to a high-ankle sprain.
