Ximines will be a part of the active roster for Sunday's matchup with the Cardinals in Week 2, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Ximines will join the active roster and help replace Azeez Ojulari (hamstring) on New York's defense. Ximines appeared in 15 contests last season, recording 24 tackles, including two sacks.

Ximines missed most of the season with a rotator cuff injury, but when healthy brings some pass rushing skills on the edge. He'll rotate in this year at linebacker, once he gets over his training camp hamstring injury.

Should be in the outside linebacker rotation and contribute as an edge rusher, though he's unlikely to rack up a ton of tackles in his role.

Taken with the 95th overall pick in this year's draft, Ximines will compete for an outside linebacker/edge rusher job in camp. At 6-4, 253 and with decent speed for his size (4.78 40), Ximines has the potential to be one of the team's top edge rushers, but Kareem Martin, Lorenzo Carter and/or Markus Golden might be better bets to make an immediate impact.
