2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Werner had his most productive campaign on an efficiency basis during his fourth season with the Saints in 2024, tallying 92 tackles in 13 appearances. This was just one tackle shy of his career-best 93 stops in 2023 when he played 16 games. The 2021 second-round pick has seen his production increase each year since joining the Saints and, after signing an extension through 2027, he's cemented himself into a full-time role alongside defensive stalwart and fellow off-ball linebacker Demario Davis. Barring injuries, these two are in line to lead New Orleans in tackles once again in 2026. Read Past Outlooks

Werner is coming off a career year, tallying 93 tackles while playing 16 regular-season games. The 25-year-old doesn't particularly jump off the page with game-changing plays, totaling one interception and two forced fumbles over three pro campaigns. The Saints added a solid veteran in Willie Gay this offseason, and top linebacker Demario Davis is back for his 13th season. However, Werner should be in line for a productive 2024, which would set him up for a solid payday at the end of his rookie contract.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Inks lucrative extension Thursday
Werner, who's excelled in the Saints' linebacker corps since being drafted in the second round in 2021, signed a three-year extension worth more than $25 million Thursday, Adam Schefter and Katherine Terrell of ESPN report.
ANALYSIS
The deal has $17.5 million in guaranteed money and rewards Werner, who was heading into the final year of his rookie contract, for an impressive first three NFL seasons. The Ohio State product has started 35 regular-season games in that span and recorded 235 total tackles, one interception, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Werner is currently dealing with a shoulder injury that has cost him some training camp practices, but the issue is considered minor overall.
