2024 Fantasy Outlook
After spending two years in San Francisco, McCloud signed a two-year deal with Atlanta this offseason, joining Darnell Mooney and Casey Washington as additions to a revamped wideout corps behind Drake London. Quarterback Kirk Cousins also is new in town and expected to elevate the passing attack led by former Rams passing game coordinator Zac Robinson. McCloud has never been prolific, totaling 26 catches (on 40 targets) for 378 yards and a score across two seasons with the 49ers, but he excels as a returner, which should help him land a roster spot on the Falcons. RANKS
Team-high seven targets
McCloud caught four of seven targets for 52 yards during Sunday's 18-10 loss to the Steelers. He also returned two kickoffs for 56 yards.
ANALYSIS
McCloud surprisingly had more targets and receptions than No. 1 wideout Drake London, who finished with two catches on three targets for 15 yards. McCloud played 30 offensive snaps, operating as the WR3 behind London (56) and Darnell Mooney (53). Given his snap share, McCloud isn't likely to lead Atlanta in receiving regularly but should continue to see a handful of targets per game, especially if opposing defenses divert most of their attention to London. McCloud's career-high numbers came in 2021 when playing for the Steelers, totaling 39 receptions (66 targets) for 277 yards. The veteran has caught only one touchdown in his seven-year career.

McCloud turned out to be a great signing for the 49ers last season, as the journeyman filled the team's need for a return specialist after experimenting with several options over the past couple of years. The fifth-year pro also proved to be a sneaky weapon for head coach Kyle Shanahan on offense, posting 18 touches for 321 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in 17 games. Expect McCloud to continue handling all of San Francisco's return duties while serving as the team's fourth wideout in 2023.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Looking good for No. 3 role
McCloud is poised to open the season as Atlanta's top slot receiver, as he was working ahead of Rondale Moore prior to Moore's knee injury Wednesday, per Josh Kendall of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Even with Moore healthy, McCloud had the inside track on the slot receiver role, as he's consistently been working with the first-team offense in training camp. Moore was carted off the field at practice Wednesday due to a non-contact injury, further solidifying McCloud's standing as Atlanta's third wide receiver behind Drake London and Darnell Mooney.
