2025 Fantasy Outlook
Wharton is one of two interior defensive linemen the Panthers signed this offseason, joining the team on a three-year, $54 million deal after spending his first five seasons in Kansas City. The 27-year-old is coming off the best season of his career, setting new personal bests in total tackles (29), sacks (6.5) and pass defenses (two). Now in Carolina, he's expected to serve as the team's top interior pass rusher and wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks in 2025. Read Past Outlooks
Limited to open week
Wharton (toe) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Wharton has missed four of the Panthers' first six games of the regular season due to lower-body injuries. He's been sidelined for the last two due to a toe injury, but he would put himself in a good position to return for Sunday's game against the Jets if he were to practice in full over the next two days.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Wharton made a name for himself as a rookie despite going undrafted, ultimately claiming more snaps than Derrick Nnadi alongside star defensive tackle Chris Jones. Wharton used the snaps to accumulate 27 tackles (14 solo), two sacks and a forced fumble, but he faces even more competition in 2021 following the team's offseason addition of Jarran Reed.
