Barely plays all season
Sermon finished the season with just two carries for 19 yards and appeared in only two games.
ANALYSIS
Sermon was claimed off waivers by the Eagles shortly before the start of the season, but his new team evidently didn't view the second-year back as anything more than organizational depth. At no point was there even a hint that he'd move higher than fourth on the depth chart, and the Eagles never dressed more than three backs in a game. With Miles Sanders and Kenneth Gainwell suiting up for every game, and Boston Scott missing just a pair, that left very little for Sermon to do.

The Dallas pass rush might be intimidating, but the Philadelphia offensive line might be even more fearsome.

Eno Benjamin was the last man standing in Arizona's backfield this past Sunday, and the Cardinals aren't the only NFC West team staring at a thinned out depth chart this week.

Juan Carlos Blanco breaks down the latest as of early Sunday on another super-sized Week 5 injury report, which features a multitude of big names at each position.

Breece Hall wasn't one of the standouts amidst a huge week for RB production, but he did take a dominant share of the workload and should be started in fantasy lineups going forward.
Past Fantasy Outlooks

2021
It was no real shock last season when a rookie stole the spotlight in the San Francisco
backfield. What might have been a surprise was which rookie running back did the deed. Taken
in the third round out of Ohio State, Sermon was overshadowed by sixth-round pick Elijah
Mitchell, who impressed his coaches more in the preseason and then took over lead-back
duties when Raheem Mostert got injured. Sermon did show what he could do in Week 4 when
both Mostert and Mitchell were sidelined, cranking out 89 rushing yards on 19 carries, but he
then saw only 12 touches the rest of the year, missing a game as a healthy scratch and then
because of an ankle injury. Sermon was waived by the 49ers in August, however, and quickly claimed by Philadelphia, where he'll provide his new team with backfield depth behind Miles Sanders, Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott.
