25-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
Los Angeles Rams
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Atwell looked like a breakout player after three games last year. During that time, he caught 17 passes for 246 yards and a touchdown. Atwell slowed down after that stretch, largely due to decreased usage in the offense. Then, after the Week 10 bye, the veteran mostly disappeared from the offense. Aside from a game in which Atwell had three catches for 76 yards, the receiver posted a total of 33 yards in the last six games. It should be noted that Atwell was phased out while DeMarcus Robinson took on a major role. Going into his fourth season, Atwell would have enhanced value if coach Sean McVay restored the role Atwell had early in 2023. At this point, that seems unlikely. Read Past Outlooks

November 12, 2024
Atwell caught his only target for six yards during Sunday's 23-15 loss to the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
As expected after last week's splits, Atwell served as a backup option to starters Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua and Demarcus Robinson. The speedy veteran did outsnap Tyler Johnson and Jordan Whittington, but the former ended up with the most production out of the trio, catching three of four targets for 25 yards. Atwell looks unlikely to break out of his rotational role with the Patriots on deck in Week 11.

2021
The burner from Louisville finally got a chance to showcase his speed last season after failing to record a touch in eight games in 2021. In his final 10 appearances (four starts), Atwell had a 18-298-1 line on 33 targets, including a 62-yard touchdown reception Week 11. He also added nine carries for 34 yards and one more TD. The 2021 second-rounder likely will enter his third year in the NFL as the Rams' primary punt and kick returner with Brandon Powell off to Minnesota, and Atwell should be used as a field-stretching dynamo in the passing game. Durability always is a concern for the 5-9, 165-pound wideout, and feast or famine seems like the outcome Atwell will have in the fall.
The 2021 second-round speedster out of Louisville primarily was used as a punt and kick returner as a rookie, and Atwell looked like he would find some playing time when DeSean Jackson requested a trade before Week 8. A shoulder injury during that game against the Texans instead sidelined Atwell for the rest of the season. With Odell Beckham and Robert Woods also departing, Atwell should find some snaps as a wide receiver while retaining his role as a returner and could push Ben Skowronek for playing time as the No. 4 wideout for the Rams.
It will be interesting to see how involved Atwell, a 2021 second-round pick, is in the passing attack as a rookie. The Rams already have Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods atop the depth chart, and 2020 second-rounder Van Jefferson also should see more snaps this year. Additionally, veteran DeSean Jackson is a proven field stretcher, so Atwell could be eased in and not play consistently. Considering Los Angeles didn't give Jefferson many opportunities in his rookie year, the draft capital invested in Atwell isn't a guarantee he'll be heavily involved in the offense.

Could be on move
WRLos Angeles Rams
August 27, 2024
The Rams should consider trading Atwell to bolster their offensive line, Bill Barnwell of ESPN suggests.
ANALYSIS
Atwell was reportedly on the roster bubble during training camp, though he survived cutdown day and will enter the season as the Rams' fourth wide receiver. Nevertheless, Barnwell suggests that he could be on the move to bring in offensive line depth. As things stand, three of the team's starting offensive linemen are unavailable ahead of Week 1, with left tackle Alaric Jackson suspended and both Rob Havenstein and Jonah Jackson injured.
