Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Guessing Tracy's trajectory from here isn't easy, but his 2024 rookie season was promising, especially for a player who was in only his second year playing running back full-time. He previously played wide receiver at Iowa and Purdue, so for him to claim a starting role with the Giants as a rookie fifth-round pick is a triumph regardless of how the rest of his career goes. That Tracy is an ongoing conversion case means he might suddenly improve at various RB functions where he struggled previously, even though he's one of the oldest players (25) from his draft class. With that said, Tracy will need to improve in order to remain a clear starter ahead of rookie fourth-round pick Cam Skattebo and veteran Devin Singletary. It was easy for the Giants to give Tracy a long leash in an already-wasted 2024 season, but the coaches aren't likely to continue tolerating one fumble for every 46 touches (five times on 230 touches last year). While his receiving work last season was perhaps slightly disappointing for a WR convert, Tracy did well to average 4.4 yards per carry in a terrible offense with bad blocking, making him the favorite to enter Week 1 of 2025 as New York's starting RB. Inactive again in Week 5
Tracy (shoulder) is listed as inactive Sunday at New Orleans, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tracy got back on the practice field Friday for the first time since dislocating his right shoulder Week 3 versus the Chiefs, but the limited session wasn't enough for the Giants to clear him for game action. While Tracy is missing a second consecutive contest, Cam Skattebo will continue to lead New York's backfield, and Devin Singletary will mix in behind him. Tracy's next chance to return to action is Thursday against the Eagles.

A converted wide receiver, Tracy joins a Giants backfield in need of dynamic playmaking after Saquon Barkley left for the Eagles. A fifth-round pick out of Purdue in 2024, Tracy runs with surprising power given his background, but it's his elusiveness and desire to squeeze every possible yard out of a run that stand out. He's still learning the nuances of being a running back and can get himself into trouble trying to do too much, but he could be a weapon on jet sweeps and as a kick returner right away behind starter Devin Singletary.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
May have receiving role upon return
Tracy is recovering from a dislocated shoulder that he suffered in Week 3, but he could have a large role in the passing game in his return after Malik Nabers suffered a serious knee injury during Sunday's 21-18 win over the Chargers, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nabers will undergo an MRI on his knee Monday, but the fear is that the second-year wideout tore his ACL during the second quarter of Sunday's game, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Tracy emerged as an integral part of the Giants' offense in 2024, but the converted wide receiver was facing a challenge from rookie fourth-rounder Cam Skattebo for the Giants' RB1 role prior to going down with the shoulder injury. Even if Skattebo dominates early-down touches, Tracy's skill set as a pass catcher could lead to plenty of usage when he returns given the team's sketchy receiver corps without Nabers.
