Waived by Jets
The Jets waived Kuntz on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Kuntz signed a reserve/future contract with the team in January after spending last season on their practice squad. Should he clear waivers, the 26-year-old could be a candidate to land on the Jets' practice squad once again.

The Jets took a flier on Kuntz in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft after the 6-7 tight end impressed at the NFL Scouting Combine with a 4.55-second 40-yard dash and 40-inch vertical jump. Aaron Rodgers praised the tight end out of Old Dominion in the offseason, and Kuntz will look to make the team out of training camp after spending his rookie season on the Jets' practice squad. There's some long-term potential here given his measureables, but Kuntz is unlikely to see meaningful playing time in 2024.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Third-round pick per Reuter
Chad Reuter of NFL.com has Kuntz going to the Texans in the third round of his latest four-round 2023 mock draft.
ANALYSIS
Kuntz was once pegged as a Day 3 pick, but his draft stock has soared after a standout performance at the NFL Combine. The 6-foot-7 tight end out of Old Dominion ran a 4.55-second 40-yard dash to go with a 40-inch vertical. Houston signed Dalton Schultz in the offseason, so the Texans could allow Kuntz to develop in a backup role behind the established veteran if they draft the toolsy tight end.
