DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

GOALIE

Alexander Georgiev, NYR vs. PHI ($7,900): Georgiev is expected to get the call to give Henrik Lundqvist one more day of rest after playing in the All-Star Game, and the Flyers may be tired having played last night, but this is still a pretty big gamble. Georgiev is either brilliant or woefully inadequate, but the other plays aren't great, either. Sergei Bobrovsky ($8,000) against Eichel and Co. doesn't sound appetizing and a Jets-Bruins tilt could go either way. Hopefully, the Flyers manage to get a lot of shots and let Georgiev pile up the saves.

CENTER

Claude Giroux, PHI at NYR ($5,900): This is a potentially high-scoring game with two inexperienced backups in net, and Giroux's got an excellent track record against the Rangers. He has scored 48 points in 51 games against the Rangers in his career, including three in two games this season, and has just been given the biggest vote of confidence from his GM.

David Krejci, BOS vs. WPG ($4,900): This seems like decent value for someone who was on a tear heading into the break, and seems to have found a little chemistry with talented scorer Peter Cehlarik. It gives Krejci a huge boost because now he can defer a little on offense, and without a true second-line center Krejci should have no problems against Bryan Little.

WING

Brad Marchand, BOS vs. WPG ($6,700): He carried a four-game point streak entering the break and the Jets are reeling after a loss last night. Connor Hellebuyck hasn't been able to replicate his Vezina-worthy form and the Jets aren't nearly as good on the road. Meanwhile, Marchand has scored 32 of his 53 points on home ice this season and the Bruins have won six of their past 10.

Evan Rodrigues, BUF at CLS ($4,100): Rodrigues was on a three-game goal streak heading into the break, so hopefully the extra days off didn't cool his hot hand. He skated on the second line with Casey Mittelstadt and Conor Sheary, a skilled and talented line but one that doesn't engage very well physically and isn't very consistent. However, given the upside of this young line, Rodrigues is a defensible value play.

Peter Cehlarik, BOS vs. WPG ($3,300): This is probably the best value play of the night. Cehlarik is a capable finisher who's getting a top-six role right away in Boston, and he's showing good chemistry with David Krejci. A lot of bigger names are priced much higher than Cehlarik, but none have the same amount of upside.

DEFENSE

Seth Jones, CLS vs. BUF ($5,900): Jones was reportedly banged up at the All-Star Game but is expected to play. The steady rearguard has a very high floor given his consistency and the role he plays. He will certainly be matched up against Jack Eichel's line; it'll be a tough task, but between Eichel and Jeff Skinner, Jones will get plenty of opportunities to block shots.

Ivan Provorov, PHI at NYR ($4,500): He played 28 minutes last night after Shayne Gostisbehere was a late scratch, and because the Flyers don't have much choice, expect Provorov to get a heavy workload again despite playing back-to-back. The Flyers power play is awful but the Rangers penalty kill is also pretty awful, so Provorov might get a chance to score some points there.
