It's a packed-to-the-brim day of NHL action on Saturday. The DFS slate starts an hour earlier than usual at 6 p.m. EST, but that gives us 12 games. Here are my players to target and to avoid for your lineups. Good luck!
SLATE PREVIEW
Three teams are on the second leg of a back-to-back. The Hurricanes are at home for both, but have to play the Oilers on Saturday. St. Louis also don't have to travel facing Vegas, though have been awful defensively. And the Flyers will be on the road against the Stars.
GOALIES
Carl Lindbom, VGK at STL ($8,400): With Adin Hill out, the Golden Knights have been alternating starters while on the first of consecutive nights, so there's no reason to change that making Lindbom Saturday's selection. He's only made four NHL appearances with only one of them subpar. The Blues just played Friday and have been struggling ranked bottom-10 in both goals and GAA, so I like Lindbom to pick up the win.
Logan Thompson, WAS vs. NJD ($8,000): Thompson has been having a great season with a 1.85 GAA and .923 save percentage through 12 outings. The Devils have also been doing well averaging 3.35 goals, though Jack Hughes won't be available for Saturday.
Connor Hellebuyck, WPG at CGY ($8,000): The reigning Vezina and Hart recipient has posted a 2.49 GAA and .914 save percentage and will be going up against a Flames team averaging a league-low 2.05 goals per game. That makes Hellebuyck's salary a little low, so there's no reason you shouldn't add him to your lineups.
VALUE PLAYS/ONE-OFFS
Connor Bedard, CHI vs. TOR ($8,200): Bedard is on a nine-game scoring streak where he's tallied 19 points to go with 32 shots. The Leafs have been a disaster with a 3.83 GAA. Joseph Woll has rejoined the team, but hasn't played in the NHL this season.
Jordan Eberle, SEA vs. SAN ($4,800): Eberle has directed at least three pucks on net in each of his last six games. That's encouraging heading into this matchup as the Sharks have allowed an average of 32.1 shots, which puts them last in the league. A surprisingly good goaltending has them at a 3.22 GAA, though that's still below average and Eberle could easily hit the target at least three more times on Saturday.
Pavel Zacha, BOS at MTL ($4,100): Zacha is on pace for a personal best in points as he's already at 15, including six from his last eight outings. The Bruins - and all DFS players - should thank the Canadiens. Not only have they opted to start Sam Montembeault instead of Jakub Dobes on Saturday, but they also announced this early. I've never particularly been a believer in Montembeault, and this year he's struggled to a 3.61 GAA and .857 save percentage.
FORWARD LINE STACKS TO CONSIDER
Golden Knights at Blues
Jack Eichel (C - $8,700), Mitch Marner (W - $6,300), Ivan Barbashev (W - $4,400)
This stack is fairly hefty on salary, but I think it's worth it. And Vegas is a little shorthanded at the moment, so I'd rather shell out than get cute. The Blues are battling the Leafs for the highest GAA and will be on the second day of a back-to-back.
Eichel's salary is so high since he's tallied 23 points to go with 68 shots. St. Louis also maintain a bottom-five penalty kill while Eichel has averaged 4:22 with the extra man. Marner has been doing great dishing out 15 assists after 75 assists last season. He's also averaged 4:29 on the man-advantage. Barbashev doesn't participate on the power play, but does team up with two elite point producers. As such, he's managed seven goals and nine assists.
Sharks at Kraken
Alexander Wennberg (C - $3,400), William Eklund (W - $5,300), Philipp Kurashev, (W - $3,100)
The Kraken rank 30th on the penalty kill, and it gets worse from there. With Joey Daccord banged up, it's between Philipp Grubauer and Matt Murray in net. That's not where any NHL team in 2025 wants to be. Wennberg and Kurashev have been getting more man-advantage minutes while Eklund's PP time has slightly decreased since returning from injury.
Wennberg has registered seven points across nine appearances while averaging 2:40 on the season while up a man. Eklund has missed some time, but has still tallied 11 points. He's also been the most productive of these three on the power play with five PPPs. Kurashev has produced nine of his 10 points during the last 10 games with at least three shots six times.
DEFENSEMEN
Moritz Seider, DET vs. BUF ($5,900): Seider still skates plenty of minutes, but those minutes have gotten easier. He's also notched six points and 20 from his last eight outings. The Sabres have really struggled on defense as they're bottom-5 in GAA and shots allowed.
Thomas Harley, DAL vs. PHI ($4,400): Harley is having a down year by his standards, yet still has 10 points. He's also registered a 4.8 shooting percentage, which is a bit low for him. The Flyers have a surprisingly-good GAA, but that's based on Dan Vladar playing well above his usual level. And the Flyers are the one club on the road for the second day of a back-to-back.
Brandt Clarke, LOS at OTT ($3,900): The Kings have been rocking a five-forward top PP unit on the power play, though Clarke has still averaged 1:44 during that situation. He's also posted an assist in each of his last two games. Those man-advantage minutes, even if somewhat limited, is what pushes Clarke over the top for me since the Sens are 31st on the penalty kill.
