2025 Fantasy Outlook
Beauvillier signed a two-year contract with Washington in July after being a journeyman over the last few seasons. The left-shot winger accounted for 15 goals, 25 points, 149 shots on goal, a career-high 139 hits and a plus-2 rating across 81 regular-season appearances between the Penguins and Capitals in 2024-25. The Quebec native was relied on for offense earlier in his career, but he’s had to change his playstyle as he’s gotten older, which was evident by his hit totals last year. That trend should continue in 2025-26, as he’s expected to fill a bottom-six role. If there are injuries to Washington’s top six during the campaign, Beauvillier could move up the lineup and be worthy of being scooped up on the waiver wire, but he shouldn’t be a draft-board target for most fantasy managers. Beauvillier scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Oilers.
ANALYSIS
Beauvillier snapped a seven-game goal drought, a span in which he was held to one assist, when he scored at 14:29 of the second period. The 28-year-old winger has been listed on the fourth line in recent games, but he's seeing ice time more in line with that of a third-liner. Beauvillier is at 10 goals, seven assists, 115 shots on net, 67 hits, 20 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 53 outings this season.

Considering Beauvillier played for three different teams last season, starting with Vancouver then Chicago and finally Nashville, perhaps the best 2024-25 outcome for the veteran would be to finish the campaign with the same team he starts the season with. In this case, that would be the Penguins, who signed the Quebec native to a one-year, $1.25 million deal this offseason. A fringe playoff team and a one-year contract would certainly seem to be setting Beauvillier up to be traded at the deadline, but that speculation will depend on how productive he can be. With all the trades last year, Beauvillier saw action in a combined 60 regular-season contests in which he garnered a mere five goals and 12 helpers. For now, the winger is expected to fill a third-line role but could get a shot further up the roster if he can rediscover his offensive game.
