Poitras will be back with Boston following the World Junior Championship, Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic reports Monday.
ANALYSIS
Poitras will for sure miss the remainder of December while with Canada for the WJC but could be out into the New Year depending on how far the team makes it into the playoff round. At the NHL level, the 19-year-old center has racked up five goals on 38 shots, eight assists and 15 blocked shots while averaging 14:06 of ice time per game through 27 outings. The youngster's minutes have been limited this season with Poitras periodically serving as a healthy scratch.
