2025 Fantasy Outlook
Kane isn’t the player he used to be, but considering his injury history, he’s aged well. Kane supplied 21 goals and 59 points in 72 appearances with Detroit in 2024-25, and he’s averaged 26 goals and 69 points per 82 outings over the past three regular seasons. Still, he’ll celebrate his 37th birthday Nov. 19, so it’s fair to wonder how much is left in the tank. Sticking with the Red Wings after inking a one-year deal over the summer, he’ll likely continue to serve in the top six and on the first power-play unit. The latter assignment should be especially helpful for his continued success after he recorded 12 goals and 29 points with the man advantage last year. It wouldn’t be shocking to see Kane reach the 50-point mark this season, but his age and past injuries make him one of the riskier forwards in that production range. Read Past Outlooks
Snags helper Thursday
Kane notched an assist and four shots on goal in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Penguins.
ANALYSIS
This was Kane's first point in three games after missing six contests due to an upper-body injury. The 37-year-old has returned to a second-line role with power-play time. Kane is at 24 points (nine on the power play), 78 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating through 27 appearances. He's productive when he's healthy, but the injury risk is at least moderate since he's already been out of the lineup for two stretches this season.

Coming off hip surgery, Kane didn't make his season debut until Dec. 7, but he went on to have an effective campaign, collecting 20 goals and 47 points across 50 appearances. Although it was his first season with the Red Wings, he was in a comfortable position because he was often paired with his old Blackhawks linemate Alex DeBrincat. Even though the Red Wings fell short of a playoff berth, the 35-year-old Kane clearly liked his time there, given that he decided to ink a one-year, $6.5 million contract over the summer. Now that his hip surgery is well behind him, a healthy Kane might be able to flirt with the 30-goal and 70-point milestones. Just keep in mind that his age and injury history make him a somewhat risky pick.
