Saturday was busy for the NHL, which is the norm. However, Monday is a holiday that'll also be full of action. That leaves Sunday with three games on the slate and the first puck starting at 2 p.m. EST. It may be a light day, but you can still play NHL DFS and I still have recommendations.
SLATE PREVIEW
There are two teams on the second day of a back-to-back Sunday with the Oilers at home against the Blues and the Senators visiting the Red Wings. No team will be on the first leg of consecutive days, so that should lead to clear goaltending decisions.
GOALIE
Andrei Vasilevskiy, TAM at DAL ($7,600): Vasilevskiy has been pretty good in his last 10 starts posting a 2.27 GAA and .909 save percentage with a .914 on the season. You may be worried about the Stars as they're top-eight in offense at 3.31 goals per game, though they've been slipping of late as they've only managed an average of 25.3 shots that puts them in the bottom-five.
VALUE PLAY
Jake Neighbours, STL at EDM ($4,800): The Oilers are on their second consecutive day and Connor Ingram has been projected to start in net. He's 28 with a career .902 save percentage while starting the season in the AHL. St. Louis may have the NHL's worst offense, so a stack isn't really viable - especially with Robert Thomas injured. Neighbours is riding a three-game scoring streak and has reached 20 goals during each of the last two campaigns.
FORWARD LINE STACK
Red Wings vs. Senators
Andrew Copp (C - $5,200), Alex DeBrincat (W - $7,300), Patrick Kane (W - $6,200)
The Sens maintain a bottom-three penalty kill and will be on the road for the second of a back-to-back. They're also bottom-eight in GAA as things have been disastrous since Linus Ullmark took a leave of absence. And Ottawa signed James Reimer to be their backup. While only one of these three players appears on their lead power play, the trio is playing well and will save some salary compared to Detroit's first line.
Copp and Kane operate on the Red Wings' second man-advantage. The former has notched 12 points from his last 14 outings. Kane has scuffled a bit since coming back from injury, but still has five points in 10 matchups with 28 overall. DeBrincat has potted 25 goals on 167 shots, with 11 of those coming on the power play that should be of service on Sunday against Ottawa's 31st-ranked penalty kill.
DEFENSEMAN
Justin Faulk, STL at EDM ($5,900): Tremendous puck luck has helped Faulk this year with 11 goals and 11 assists. He's also been active with at least four shots five times during the last 12 outings. That type of production could be ideal on Sunday against an Edmonton team on their second day of a back-to-back with Connor Ingram slated to start.
