Admirable effort on short notice
Fugitt lost to Michael Morales via TKO (punches) at 1:09 of Round 3 at UFC 277 on Saturday in Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Fugitt accepted this fight a little over a week ago and entered as a +450 underdog, the largest on the entire card. Taking both of those things into consideration, he looked awfully good. There's a case to be made he won the opening round on the strength of a takedown and some ground control, but Fugitt predictably lost steam as the fight progressed. He was competitive the entire way before a quick one-two combination by Morales early in Round 3 closed the show. Fugitt by no means embarrassed himself against one of the top prospects in the sport today, all on short notice. We'll see him again inside the Octagon.
