Light HeavyweightUFC
March 12, 2025
Murzakanov will face Johnny Walker at UFC 316 on June 7, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Murzakanov will complete his six-month suspension on May 1, and he'll waste no time to return to the octagon. He's gone 4-0 in his career at the UFC level.
Handed six-month ban

December 30, 2024
Murzakanov has been suspended for 180 days for a positive anti-doping test for LGD 4033, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
The metabolite was traced to an improperly labeled supplement, according to SMRTL lab testing. He is eligible to return May 1. Murzakanov owns a 4-0 record in four UFC bouts in his career, but his future with the promotion looks a bit cloudy after this ban.
Pulls out of fight
Light HeavyweightUFC
November 6, 2024
Murzakanov has withdrawn from his scheduled fight against Nikita Krylov at UFC 309, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear why Murzakanov had to drop out of the event, but it will postpone his shot at improving to 5-0 within the UFC. With only 10 days before the scheduled fight date, it appears unlikely that a replacement fighter will be found to face Krylov, per King.

August 27, 2024
Murzakanov is scheduled to compete against fellow light heavyweight Nikita Krylov at UFC 309 in New York City on Nov. 16, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Less than one month after knocking out Alonzo Menifield, Murzakanov will prepare to participate in the UFC's annual event in New York City. He faces Krylov, who has not fought since March 2023 but is on a three-fight win streak with two wins over former UFC title challengers.
Remains perfect in UFC

August 3, 2024
Murzakanov defeated Alonzo Menifield via KO (punches) at 3:18 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
Fighting for the first time since April 2023, it was another professional effort from "The Professional." Murzakanov doesn't apparently to be overly athletic or move all that well, but he clearly knows what he's doing inside the Octagon. He managed the space between himself and Menifield exceptionally well. Azamat fired off power shots and made sure to be out of the way before Alonzo could return fire. With the damage piling up and Menifield exhausted, Murzakanov fired off one huge combination that closed the show and led to a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Now 4-0 in the UFC with three knockouts during that stretch, the company should push Murzakanov hard given the fact he's already 35 years of age.
