Third straight stoppage win
Guskov defeated Billy Elekana via submission (guillotine choke) at 3:33 of Round 2 at UFC 311 on Saturday in Los Angeles.
ANALYSIS
Agreeing to face Elekana on just days' notice following the withdrawal of Johnny Walker (undisclosed), Guskov gave up an immediate, easy takedown before hanging on and taking advantage of his clearly exhausted opponent. Bogdan managed to reverse position on the mat and nearly choke Elekana out in the closing stages of Round 1. He proceeded to dominate on the feet the entirety of Round 2 before earning the submission win late in the frame. Guskov's gas tank is a question mark, but the finishing ability is legitimate. He's won three in a row, all via stoppage, on the heels of a knockout loss to Volkan Oezdemir in his September 2023 company debut.

New opponent at UFC 311
Guskov will now take on Billy Elekana in a light heavyweight battle at UFC 311 on January 18, Alex Behunin of MMA Mania reports.
ANALYSIS
Guskov was originally scheduled to face Johnny Walker at the event, but Walker was forced to withdraw roughly a week before fight day due to an unspecified injury. In steps Elekana to make his UFC debut. Elekana is a 7-1 fighter out of Las Vegas who has fought under the banner of respected promotions such as LFA 92-1) and PFL (2-0). Guskov, however, remains roughly a (-350) betting favorite with a few days to go before faceoffs.

Will take on Walker
Guskov will take on Johnny Walker in a light heavyweight bout at UFC 311 on Jan. 18, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
There's no question Guskov is trending in the right direction of late, and he'll look to secure a third straight win when facing a struggling Walker to begin his 2025 calendar. Guskov's most recent fight ended with a knockout win over Ryan Spann on April 27 this year -- it was his second consecutive KO win, and he's gone 2-1 since joining the UFC ranks in 2023.

Second straight knockout win
Guskov defeated Ryan Spann via TKO (punches) at 3:16 of Round 2 at UFC on ESPN 55 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was Guskov's third UFC bout. He has looked quite awful in all three, with the difference in the last two being he has come back to find a knockout win. Bogdan gave up an early takedown and spent Round 1 fighting off of his back. It predictably didn't go well. Yet, to his credit, aided by an exhausted Spann, Guskov remained upright in Round 2 before he got his striking game going, eventually putting Spann away midway through the round. The stoppage would go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Guskov's power is clearly legitimate, but it sure seems as if his all-around game is lacking. He may very well struggle as the competition level he faces increases.

Golden opportunity next
Guskov is scheduled to compete against Ryan Spann in a light heavyweight fight at UFC Vegas 91 on April 27, per Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Spann is a light heavyweight in the top 15 of the UFC division's rankings, so a Guskov win here can set himself up closer to championship contention. He got the opportunity after a vicious first-round knockout to Zac Pauga. However, the question is whether Spann can get to another higher level, especially after submitting to Volkan Oezdemir in one round not even one year ago.
