Alvarez won't face Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 315 in Montreal on May 10 due to a hand injury, Irati Prat of MARCA reports.
ANALYSIS
Alvarez was expected to face Saint-Denis at UFC 315, but a hand injury will prevent him from stepping into the octagon. The severity of the injury hasn't been revealed yet, so it remains to be seen when he'll be able to fight again. It's unclear if Saint-Denis will either fight against another opponent, or if the fight will be scrapped from the card.

Alvarez is scheduled to compete against fellow lightweight Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 315 in Montreal on May 10, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Alvarez's rise to the top can take a significant leap with his next fight. Before going 0-2 in his last two fights, Saint-Denis was one of the UFC's most promising lightweight contenders for 2024. Alvarez will look to go 8-1 in his last nine fights and establish himself as a legitimate threat for the division's championship.

Alvarez defeated Drakkar Klose via KO (strikes) at 2:48 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Tampa, Florida.
ANALYSIS
It's rare you find a fighter with the type of all-around offensive arsenal Alvarez brings to the table. It's even more rare you find a 6-foot-3 lightweight with the ability to do such things. Alvarez fired off a lightning-fast combination before knocking Klose out cold with a jumping knee. You literally cannot do it any better. Alvarez is 7-1 in his past eight fights, with all seven wins (four knockouts, three submissions) coming via stoppage. The lone defeat during that stretch came against Arman Tsarukyan, who is going to fight Islam Makhachev for the UFC Lightweight Championship next month. The long-term upside here is through the roof.

Alvarez is scheduled to compete against Drakkar Klose in a lightweight fight at UFC Tampa on Dec. 14, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Alvarez will look to finish 2024 with multiple wins. This year began rough for him, as multiple fight cancellations prevented him from logging his first victory until when he defeated Elves Brener via TKO in August. Meanwhile, Klose is on a four-fight win streak.
Dominant run continues

Alvarez defeated Elves Brener via TKO (strikes) at 3:36 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
The brilliant run of Alvarez continues. This was a near-flawless performance again a perfectly legitimate opponent. Joel opened up on the feet early on and nearly got the submission win in the dying seconds of the frame. He was in firm control the next eight-plus minutes before one huge blow followed by some brutal knees put Brener away for good. It would also go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Dating back to June 2019, Alvarez is 6-1, and the lone defeat during that stretch came against one of the best lightweights in the world in Arman Tsarukyan. The 31-year-old Spaniard is deserving of a massive bump in competition his next time out as his continues his assault on the 155-pound rankings.

Alvarez will fight Elves Brener at UFC Abu Dhabi on August 3, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
After dropping out his fight with Mateusz Rebecki back in April, Alvarez will face a new opponent, Elves Brener, who is coming off his first UFC defeat. Alvarez has dropped out of multiple bouts since his last victory in July 2023 but is looking to add his sixth victory in his last seven fights.
