Marco Tulio
Matuto

Brazil
Suffers first UFC defeat
Tulio lost to Christian Leroy Duncan via KO (punches) at 3:20 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Tulio has shown excellent power throughout his career, with 10 of his 14 wins coming via knockout. What we haven't seen is his ability to excel in a tough, grinding dog fight. We got our answer here, and it wasn't pretty. Tulio was essentially one-and-done with all his offensive thrusts, while Duncan continuously pushed the pace and mixed things up. The Brazilian was on wobbly legs for a while before Duncan finally put him away for good midway through Round 2. It's a little early to make a final determination, but it's certainly possible Tulio is the type of fighter that padded his record prior to his UFC arrival by beating up on lower-end competition.

The extent of the injury is unclear, but Tulio will have to wait to extend his impressive start with the company. He owns a 6-0 pro record and a 2-0 start in UFC following wins over Tresean Gore and Ihor Potieria. This means Pereira will now face Kyle Daukaus on Aug. 23.

Remains perfect in UFC
Tulio defeated Tresean Gore via TKO (punches) at 3:16 of Round 2 at UFC 314 on Saturday in Miami.
ANALYSIS
Tulio ballooned to north of a -500 favorite when this fight kicked off, and it ended up being nowhere near high enough. He constantly pushed forward and pressured Gore, throwing a ton of power shots and landing almost everything. When all was set and done, Tulio closed with a 127-17 edge in significant strikes landed. The ridiculous toughness of Gore is the lone reason this fight lasted as long as it did. How the Brazilian will fare when those power shots aren't landing is a legitimate concern, but that is yet to be a problem through two official fights with the company in addition to an appearance on Dana White's Contender Series.
