Fighting Lucindo in October
Rodriguez will fight Iasmin Lucindo at UFC 307 on Oct. 5, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez has struggled in her latest bouts, going 1-2 since the beginning of 2023 and losing most recently to Jessica Andrade via split decision back in April. The 37-year-old Brazilian will have the chance to prove that her age has not taken away her skill, fighting a newer fighter in Lucindo, who is 3-1 in her UFC career.

Drops decision in Vegas
Rodriguez lost to Jessica Andrade via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC 300 on Saturday in Las Vegas
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez showed pretty well despite the loss. She was the far better fighter in the prolonged striking exchanges between the two women, although she allowed Andrade to connect with far too many leg kicks. Rodriguez slipped about midway through Round 1, allowing Andrade to gain top position en route to winning the frame. She improved in Round 2 and was even better in Round 3, but two of the three judges didn't think she did enough. Set to turn 37 years of age in a couple weeks, this feels like a fight Rodriguez had to have. She's now lost three of four dating back to November 2022 and is in dire straights moving forward, even in a division that lacks quality depth up top.

Facing Jessica Andrade
Rodriguez is scheduled to face Jessica Andrade in a strawweight bout at UFC 300 in Las Vegas on April 13, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez had an impressive showing in September with a dominant victory against Michelle Waterson, improving her UFC record to 7-3-2. Andrade pulled an upset with her win over Mackenzie Dern in November, which ended a three-bout losing streak.

Again bests Michelle Waterson
Rodriguez defeated Michelle Waterson via TKO (punches) at 2:42 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
There was a level of violence and aggressiveness here that we hadn't seen from Rodriguez in any of her prior UFC bouts. She worked her way back to her feet following an early takedown from Waterson and proceeded to unload with literally everything but the kitchen sink. Michelle, with some help from referee Kerry Hatley not stopping the fight, managed to see Round 2, but Marina went right back to work, eventually earning the stoppage. Rodriguez called out Tatiana Suarez in her post-fight interview. Unlike many requests, this one makes some sense. The Brazilian is 36 years of age now, so she might as well seek the biggest fight possible, as soon as possible. Rodriguez is 5-2 in her past seven fights, although two of those wins are over Waterson. She'll also walk away with a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for her efforts here.

Will fight Waterson
Rodriguez will get a fight against Michelle Waterson at UFC Vegas 79 on Sept. 23, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nlreports.
ANALYSIS
The last time these two met, Rodriguez won via unanimous decision and used her size to her advantage. Currently 6-3-2, Rodriguez is technically gifted and has plenty of power, so look for her to use that to her advantage against a much smaller opponent. She'll have plenty to prove after losing her previous two bouts.
