Yahoo DFS Soccer: Tuesday UCL Picks

FORWARDS

Robert Lewandowski, FCB at CHE (€30): Lewandowski is tied with Erling Haaland for the most goals in the Champions League (10), thanks in large part to his four-goal, 50-point outburst in his last UCL appearance. He bagged a brace Friday, he's found the net in seven of his last nine, and there's little reason to think he slows down at Stamford Bridge with Bayern going in search of that all-important away goal in the first leg.

Lionel Messi, BAR at NAP (€29): Messi snapped out of a four-game goalless drought in a big way, scoring four times in Barcelona's 5-0 romp in league play over the weekend. He thrives on the big stage and should be firing at will against Napoli on Tuesday.

Lorenzo Insigne, NAP at BAR (€27): Insigne has a goal and an assist over his last two Champions League appearances. He's taken the majority of penalty kicks for Napoli and has a share of set-piece duty as well. In a game where Napoli will need to put up some goals, expect the Italian attacker to be involved going forward.

MIDFIELDERS

Kingsley Coman, FCB at CHE (€24): Coman is averaging over 13 fantasy points per game over his last six starts. He's putting up big numbers even when he doesn't score or assist, making him an attractive play at a position lacking appealing options on a small slate.

Serge Gnabry, FCB at CHE (€23): Who can forget Gnabry's 52-point onslaught last time he was in London? He continues to make an impact in the Bayern attack, with two goals and three assists in his last two Bundesliga appearances, putting him firmly in play in a match where they'll be looking to nab an away goal.

Mason Mount, CHE vs. FCB (€19): Mount opens up a bit of value in the midfield and could split a share of set pieces. He actually leads Chelsea in set-piece crosses and shots, though he's only taken two total over his last couple of outings.

DEFENDERS

Joshua Kimmich, FCB at CHE (€20): Kimmich has the highest attacking upside of any defender on the board and could be playing higher up the field in a midfield role. He's averaging nearly eight fantasy points per game this UCL campaign, which is actually somewhat underwhelming given the game-changing appeal he comes with.

Reece James, CHE vs. FCB (€16): James was the primary set-piece taker in Chelsea's last match. Whether that continues is yet to be seen, but in a match where they'll likely need to keep up, he's a viable defender with attacking upside.

Junior Firpo, BAR at NAP (€10): Junior's returns have been paltry, but at bare minimum price, he certainly opens up some value to help spend up elsewhere. Barcelona boasts the best clean sheet odds on the slate, so plugging in a bargain defender to free up funds in this spot is a valid strategy.

GOALKEEPER

Wilfredo Caballero, CHE v. FCB (€14): Caballero has seemingly taken over in goal for the Blues. He's the cheapest projected starting 'keeper on the slate, and while Chelsea are home underdogs, anything can happen on a two-game slate.
