Aaron Herrera
28-Year-Old
D.C. United
MLS
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Herrera had a solid debut season with D.C. United, recording four assists in 29 starts, the second most in his seven MLS seasons. He only kept two clean sheets, though, a significant regression after heading into the season with 38 clean sheets across 144 starts. Although there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding D.C. United's defense next season following the departures of Alex Bono, Christopher McVey and Pedro Santos, Herrera figures to be involved in the attack once again when on the pitch. He created 36 chances in 2024, eight fewer than he did during the 2021 season with Real Salt Lake where he recorded 10 assists. With last season's primary left-back/left-wing-back Pedro Santos now gone, more of the attack could build up on Herrera's side of the pitch. That, combined with hopes of an improved defensive unit, leads to some optimism that Herrera could have a more productive campaign in 2025.

Logs double-digit crosses in draw
Herrera created two chances, sent in 10 crosses (four accurate) and made three tackles (two won), two clearances, one interception and one block during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Montreal.
ANALYSIS
Herrera was used as a midfielder from the flank this time and had a great two way performance, with solid defensive numbers despite the more advanced positioning and even better stats on the attacking end as he was his team's most reliable source of playmaking. Now fully available after being out for a month with his national team and then serving two different one-match suspensions, Herrera will definitely bring a lot of hope for a D.C. side that doesn't win a game since May.
