Knee still painful
Dante missed the derby against Monaco as he is still dealing with his knee injury and will be assessed every week before each game to determine if he can be part of the match squad, coach Frank Haise said in a press conference, according to Nice Matin.
ANALYSIS
Dante suffered a knee injury in the game against Benfica in August and has been struggling to recover since, missing another game for the same reason. The captain will be assessed on a weekly basis to determine if he can be part of the squad and remains at risk for a major part of the season until the pain subsides. Antoine Mendy and Kojo Peprah Oppong are expected to see increased playing time in the backline until he returns to full fitness.

Suffers setback in training
Dante (knee) suffered a setback from his injury and will miss Saturday's clash against Brest, coach Franck Haise said in the press conference. "He had a reaction in his knee, the same one that bothered him against Benfica, when training resumed at the beginning of the week. Our goal is to have him back after the Brest match. Nantes was his first match in five weeks, and he'd had relatively few training sessions. We discussed it at halftime; he understood very well that there would be too much risk in him playing the full match, and yet there was nothing unusual about his being substituted. We know that sometimes we'll have to take it day by day; we'll see how his knee reacts after the match. This will be part of his season and part of our season."
