Paintsil delivered a strong inaugural MLS season with the LA Galaxy. The Ghanaian international joined the club in February from KFC Genk, producing 14 goals and eight assists from 34 appearances (playoffs included). He should remain a regular starter in 2025, leading attacks down the left flank and continuing LA's successful scoring cohort with Dejan Joveljic and Gabriel Pec. His role will be particularly important in 2025, as Riqui Puig will be out for most of the season with a torn ACL.
Withdraws from Ghana squad
Paintsil (undisclosed) seems to still be dealing with the injury he suffered in the last MLS regular season game against Minnesota since he was withdrawn from the Ghana squad, coach Otto Addo said in a press conference, according to The Ghana Insider.

Paintsil is dealing with a knock or simply requires rest and is therefore ruled out of his international duty with Ghana. The forward suffered an injury during the last MLS regular season game one month ago and is maybe still dealing with that issue which rules him out for the international break. Paintsil will have plenty of time to recover during the MLS break to be back available for the 2026 season fully fit for the Galaxy.
