Transfers to Benfica
Wynder has signed a two-year contract with Benfica after transferring from USL side Louisville City, the club announced Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Wynder has scored two goals in 38 American second division appearances since being promoted to Louisville's senior team in Summer 2021, and the center-back is now moving to Portugal on a record transfer fee for a USL player. It is unclear whether Benfica is planning to loan 18-year-old out next season or if he's going to be inserted straight into the Primeira Liga champions' squad, but the club of course has an excellent track record of developing young talent for future success.
