After inking a deal through 2026 with a player option for 2027, Wagner had another productive season in Philadelphia. Despite the team's overall struggles, he had his best individual season, with 10 assists and a goal. His 5.17 shot-creating actions per 90 is in the 99th percentile globally for full-backs, which says it all about his role. Wagner will again be one of the best defenders in MLS in 2025, as long as a move back to Europe isn't in the works.
Transfers to Birmingham City
Wagner will join English Championship side Birmingham City following his stint with Philadelphia Union, who announced his departure Friday.
