2025 Fantasy Outlook
Muniz disappointed a bit this past season, failing to crack 1,000 minutes from his 31 appearances (eight starts). His per-90 numbers are great since he still bagged eight goals, but Marco Silva clearly preferred Raul Jimenez at the top of the attack more often. There's a chance Jimenez doesn't get as much run at 34 years old, which would allow more pitch time for Muniz, as the two rarely, if ever, play together. If Muniz gets the minutes, he's shown the last two seasons that he'll produce, which is more than a lot of forwards can say.
Set for hamstring surgery
Muniz is set for hamstring surgery that will keep him out until the start of 2026, the club announced.
ANALYSIS
Muniz had a hamstring injury confirmed earlier in the week and he's now set for surgery. While the team suggests an early 2026 return, hamstring surgery usually takes months to fully recover from. Muniz will have to get back his strength and then take weeks if not months in training before deemed fit enough for a Premier League match. In his continued absence, Raul Jimenez will remain the team's No. 9. After starting four of the first five matches to open the season, Muniz hasn't been able to stay healthy.
