Muniz disappointed a bit this past season, failing to crack 1,000 minutes from his 31 appearances (eight starts). His per-90 numbers are great since he still bagged eight goals, but Marco Silva clearly preferred Raul Jimenez at the top of the attack more often. There's a chance Jimenez doesn't get as much run at 34 years old, which would allow more pitch time for Muniz, as the two rarely, if ever, play together. If Muniz gets the minutes, he's shown the last two seasons that he'll produce, which is more than a lot of forwards can say.

Muniz (hamstring) has completed surgery and is facing a long absence, according to manager Marco Silva. "Rodrigo had surgery last Saturday. Really bad news for us. A long period for him to be out and for him to have a setback in his first game back is painful for him. It's sad for him, his teammates, and all the staff at the football club.
