2025 Fantasy Outlook
Gauld put together perhaps the single-best season of his career in 2024, scoring 15 times and adding 12 assists while leading Vancouver to the playoffs yet again. The striker is at the heart of everything going forward for the Whitecaps, with his ability to play anywhere across the front three invaluable. He's showing no signs of slowing down and with Stuart Armstrong integrating into the team, the entire Vancouver attack could be in for a bump in 2025. If Gauld can take that next step, he has the potential to be one of the best attackers in MLS, and perhaps even an MVP candidate.

Partially trains
Gauld (knee) was involved in partial training Tuesday, according to Har Journalist of Equalizer Soccer.
ANALYSIS
Gauld has been out since March due to a knee injury, but is seeing his biggest update since, as he has rejoined partial training this week. That said, he is working towards a return, still leaving his availability again this season on the table. That said, a few more weeks out is still likely, hopefully able to make the team sheet in the final few matches of the season.

Ramping up training
Gauld (knee) is still ramping up his workload in training, according to manager Jasper Sorensen."He needs to clear some stages where he trains together with the team and where he makes himself available and it's not just being in training for two or three times. He needs to train for a while. It's how he's back, not when he's back."

Should return this season
Gauld (knee) is still in his rehabilitation process and should return this season, coach Jesper Sorensen said in a press conference, according to Har Journalist. "You can go out in the gym and see him training. But I don't think that's what you're asking. I wish I could say when the pain is off and he has the right feeling. We will also be cautious with Ryan because what we don't want is a setback for him. We want to build him up. The amount of time he's been out, he will need a preseason to get back into shape. The most important thing is that we get a strong Ryan back. It's not how fast we get him back, it's when he's back that he's strong, and has the quality that we all know he has. No, he's not ruled out for the season and I will not expect him to be out for the season. We hope that he'll be back sooner than later, but we've said that many times. I can't say anything really decisive about it."

Progressing but still can't play
Gauld (knee) is progressing well but slowly in his recovery from injury but still can't play, coach Jesper Sorensen said to the media, according to Har Journalist. "He's doing fine, apart from he can not play, so that's of course a bad thing. I can't really say anything clever about Ryan right now. We hope that he will progress step by step and it won't take too long."

Still training individually indoors
Gauld (knee) is still working individually indoors as part of his rehabilitation and has yet to resume team training, coach Jesper Sorensen said in a press conference, according to Canadian Soccer Daily. "There's not much news. I think we have to wait and see and when you see him out on the pitch then that'll be the good news. He is not there right now. We just have to wait, it's very difficult for us to say something that will give details about when he'll return. It's difficult."
