Pitcher
Jake Odorizzi, TB vs CWS ($7,900) – Tyler Chatwood is the same price but his matchup in Chicago seems a bit more daunting. Odorizzi has been exceptional at home with a 2.90 ERA, which is supported by the rest of his peripheral stats (.285 wOBA, 0.94 WHIP). A 21.7% strikeout rate at home is respectable and the White Sox present a good matchup for Odorizzi. Chicago has the third worst wOBA against right-handed pitching with a .295 mark and has struck out the sixth most at a 23.6% clip.
Catcher
Brian McCann, HOU at KC ($3,200) – Jason Hammel is a disaster this season, sporting a 5.93 ERA, and almost any other stat backs that ERA up (5.35 xFIP, 0.3 WAR). McCann has always hit right-handed pitching well with a .350 wOBA, which is a good mark for the position. Meanwhile, Hammel gave up a .344 wOBA to left-handed hitters last season.
First Base
Chris Carter, NYY vs BOS ($2,400) – Carter is probably best left for GPPs tonight given his slow start to the season. However, he's a notoriously streaky hitter and has a home run in each of his last two games. Last season against left-handed pitching, Carter had a .368 wOBA, demonstrating his power against southpaws.
Second Base
DJ LeMahieu, COL at CHI ($3,200) – This is a bit of a depressed price considering the game isn't at Coors Field, but there's a chance the wind could be blowing out in Chicago. Jon Lester isn't the best matchup, but it's LeMahieu's dominance against left-handed pitching that's worth noting here. After a .397 wOBA against lefties last season, he's almost kept up to that mark with a .393 wOBA in 2017.
Shortstop
Taylor Motter, SEA vs MIN ($2,900) – As usual, shortstop is a good position to punt and not pay up over $3,000. Motter has heated up at the plate with a hit in each of his last six games and has stolen a base in each of his last three. Those fantasy stats have led to 15.5, 12.2. 15.2 and 35.4-point outings.
Third Base
Kyle Seager, SEA vs MIN ($3,500) – While this isn't the cheapest price, it's seems like it's worth paying up for Seager tonight. His best splits typically have been at home, against right-handed pitching where he had a .395 wOBA last season. Kyle Gibson is a great pitcher to pick on as he's given up a .413 wOBA to lefties this season after giving up a .380 mark last year.
Outfield
Kyle Schwarber, CHC vs COL ($2,600) – Schwarber has been relegated to the nine hole and in a limited sample has a 1.467 OPS from that spot. He has three home runs in his last six starts, so his slumping bat may be starting to pick up. Tyler Chatwood was fantastic on the road last season but has given up a .340 wOBA to left-handed hitters in 2017.
Odubel Herrera, PHI at ATL ($3,100) – Herrera has caught fire these last few games with 18.2, 22.5, 40.6 and 40.9 fantasy points over his last four contests. Tonight he gets a great matchup against R.A. Dickey, who has surrendered a .400 wOBA to left-handed hitters at home.
