Out of mix for Wednesday
Young isn't a candidate to start Wednesday against the Mets since he pitched for Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, reports Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old was recently named a candidate to step into Baltimore's rotation down the stretch by GM Mike Elias, but the right-hander's Triple-A schedule didn't line up with Zach Eflin's shoulder injury, which created the opening for Wednesday's contest. Young could still make his MLB debut later in the season, though it may require Eflin to miss more than the 15-day minimum if the Orioles are going to go through the trouble of adding Young to the 40-man roster.
