2025 Fantasy Outlook
Beeter made the opening day roster, but was quickly sent down to work in the Triple-A rotation after his only appearance out of the pen. Beeter struck out 44 batters in 32 innings of work, holding the opposition to a .153/.286/.225 line until a shoulder injury put him on the injured list for nearly four months. Beeter worked exclusively as a reliever upon his return in September, picking up where he left off, striking out 17 of the 35 batters he faced between Somerset, Scranton and in the majors. The move to the pen appears to be only a temporary thing to fit both his recovery timetable as well as a need the club had down the stretch. Beeter should be one of the names we see called up during the season, should the rotation need to cover for injuries or if the club decides to covert him into the role Luke Weaver so nicely filled last year as a multiple-inning weapon out of the pen. Either way, anyone with a 33.2 percent career strikeout rate and a 20.5 percent K-BB percentage over three seasons of minor league work deserves some attention in the later rounds of draft-and-hold leagues or deeper mono leagues. Read Past Outlooks

Moving to relief full-time
The Yankees have moved Beeter (shoulder) to the bullpen on a permanent basis, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Beeter has primarily been a starter in the minors, but he moved to the bullpen last September at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and finished the year with two relief appearances for the Yankees. The righty has always had big stuff, but with a career 12.7 percent walk rate in the minors, a shift to relief always seemed likely. Beeter will probably begin the 2025 season at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre but could eventually be an option for the Yankees' bullpen. The 26-year-old is a little behind at the start of camp due to a shoulder issue that dates back to last season, but he has been throwing off a mound.

James Anderson releases his top 100 prospects for 2025 fantasy baseball leagues, in which Nationals outfielder Dylan Crews' massive stolen-base upside places him in the top tier!
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Beeter finished his 2023 season strong at Triple-A and impressed enough in spring training to figure into the Opening Day rotation mix. Even at his best last season, Beeter walked too many batters, but that was partially due to the automated balls and strikes system that led to inflated walk rates across the board. He primarily works with a 94-95 mph fastball and a plus 86-mph slider, so unless he can be more efficient with his pitches, Beeter might work best as a pitcher who follows an opener or works as a piggyback starter and throws three or four innings per outing.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Could be fit for Cardinals
Beeter could be a trade option for the Cardinals, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
ANALYSIS
Goold notes that the Yankees are seeking outfield and short-term pitching help, which are areas the Cardinals can cover if they decide to sell at the trade deadline. The 24-year-old Beeter isn't one of New York's top prospects but has collected a 2.64 ERA and 83:38 K:BB over 71.2 frames between Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2023. He was acquired from the Dodgers at last year's trade deadline in exchange for Joey Gallo.
