2023 Fantasy Outlook
After hitting .301 last season, Daza's average over the past two years is a respectable .293. However, in those 673 at bats, he clubbed only four homers and swiped two bases. That's a weekend series for some in Coors Field, but Daza gets to play half of his games there. Daza's strength is a career 16.5% strikeout rate, but he walks at a 6.4% clip. His average exit velocity was 1st percentile with a 2nd percentile HardHit%. This works with speed and a 55% groundball rate but is not ideal for an outfielder in Coors Field. Daza played a lot last season with Kris Bryant out. There are still pathways to playing time if Bryant is healthy and his batting average will likely give Daza positive earnings in a mixed league. However, be aware where it comes from and be especially leery of using Daza just because he's at home. Read Past Outlooks

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2021
2020
Daza got his most extended look at the major-league level in 2021, earning 331 plate appearances in Colorado. His primary attribute at the plate is his ability to make contact, as he's maintained an 18.2 percent strikeout rate across 444 career plate appearances. That hasn't translated to a strong batting average however, due to his poor quality of contact (1.5 percent barrel rate, 25.8 percent hard-hit rate). Combined with a groundball rate in excess of 55 percent, there's also very little power upside to speak of. Daza is likely to remain on the roster due to his defensive ability and because he is out of minor-league options, but with Randal Grichuk, Charlie Blackmon, Kris Bryant and Connor Joe each set for a regular role in the lineup, Daza isn't likely to find significant playing time without an injury to someone on the depth chart ahead of him.
