FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is back from injury and could get plenty of playing time Sunday against a Lakers defense that allows the fifth-most fantasy points per game to small forwards this season.

There are seven contests on tap for Sunday, one in the afternoon and the other six in the evening. As you'll note below, both the Hornets/Lakers and the Suns/Mavericks games have good value plays and there is solid value across several different price ranges.

Point Guard

Kemba Walker, CHA at LAL ($8,600): Walker has had back-to-back relatively down games against two strong defenses against point guards, both on the road, both with Nicolas Batum back and playing on the wing. On Sunday, Walker has a good chance to bounce-back against a weak Lakers defense in a game when many of the Hornets perimeter players (including Batum) are injured and may be unable to play.

Marcus Smart, BOS at ORL ($5,500): Smart has scored more than 30 fantasy points in three of the last four games, including a Friday matchup with the Magic. He faces the Magic again on Sunday, and has a good chance to replicate that level of production.

Archie Goodwin, PHO at DAL ($4,800): Goodwin, like Walker, is coming off two relatively down games against solid point guard defenses. But on Sunday he faces a Mavericks defense that is 25th against the position this season.

Shooting Guard

Devin Booker, PHO at DAL ($5,000): Booker has been a consistent 25-30 fantasy points per game player over his last six outings, and he has a good matchup Sunday against a Mavericks defense that is 22nd against shooting guards this season.

Lou Williams, LAL vs. CHA ($5,800): Williams returned from illness with 29.2 fantasy points against the Clippers on Friday, and on Sunday he faces a Hornets defense that is 24th against shooting guards. Plus, there is a chance that Kobe Bryant may sit again to rest his shoulder, which would lead to more opportunities for Williams.

Small Forward

Chandler Parsons, DAL vs PHO ($6,700): Parsons is a former borderline-elite fantasy option that has been limited all season as he recovered from off-season surgery, but he has finally gotten healthy and settled in as the impact player for the Mavericks. Parsons has averaged 24.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists over his last six and has a plus matchup Sunday against the Suns.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, CHA at LAL ($5,500): Kidd-Gilchrist made his season debut Friday against the Trail Blazers, scoring 13 points with seven boards in 34 minutes. On Sunday, the Hornets will be without Nicolas Batum and possibly Jeremy Lamb, which would afford Kidd-Gilchrist with a big opportunity to produce against a Lakers defense that is 26th against small forwards this season.

Power Forward

Draymond Green, GSW at NYK ($8,800): Green is a walking triple-double, and on Sunday he has a plus matchup against a Knicks defense that is 26th against power forwards this season.

Julius Randle, LAL vs CHA ($6,000): Randle has been playing very well since re-claiming his starting role, averaging 13.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game over his last six games. On Sunday, he faces a Hornets defense that is 24th against power forwards this season.

Center

Karl-Anthony Towns, MIN at POR ($8,400): Towns has been ridiculous of late, averaging 23.6 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.4 blocks and 0.8 steals per game over his last five games. He is a must-play at his price while playing like this, especially after he hung 32 points and 12 boards on Rudy Gobert and the Jazz in Utah on Friday.
