Cavs Stifle Lakers In Cleveland
The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the visiting Los Angeles Lakers, 116-102, at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Tuesday evening.

The Cavs got out to a quick 10-3 start, but the Lakers cut it to a one-point deficit by the end of the first quarter. The Lakers kept it close early in the second but the Cavs closed the half on a 12-2 run, to take an eight-point lead into the break. The visitors came out stronger in the third and outscored the Cavs 34-28, to cut it to a two-point game heading into the final frame. The hosts kept the momentum going and outscored the Lakers by 12 points in the fourth to secure the impressive home win.

Donovan Mitchell led the Cavs with 43 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals, in 40 minutes. Jarrett Allen followed up with 24 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and a block, while Darius Garland added 21 points, three rebounds, 11 assists and a steal. The Cavs shot 52 percent from the field, including 7-of-27 from long range.

Meanwhile, LeBron James led the Lakers with 21 points, 17 rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block, in 36 minutes. Thomas Bryant followed up with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Dennis Schroder and Russell Westbrook tallied 16 points each. The Lakers shot 43 percent from the field, including 6-of-36 from deep. Anthony Davis left the game in the first quarter and did not return.

The Lakers (10-13) will look to bounce back as they take on the Raptors on Wednesday. The Cavs (16-9) play host to the Kings on Friday.
