Pelicans Come Up Clutch At Home
The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder, 105-101, at Smoothie King Center on Monday evening.

The Pelicans got out to a strong start with an eight-point lead after one quarter. The Thunder kept up the effort in the second and managed to trim it back to a six-point game by halftime. The Pelicans maintained the momentum and held the upper hand through the third, taking a seven-point advantage into the final frame. The Thunder kept pushing in the fourth and rallied to a brief lead late in the quarter, before the Pelicans came up clutch in crunch time to secure the home win. This marks the second straight loss for the Thunder.

Zion Williamson led the Pelicans with 23 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, three blocks and a steal, in 35 minutes. Trey Murphy followed up with 20 points, six rebonds, two steals and a block, while Jose Alvarado added 15 points, two rebounds, four assists and two steals. The Pelicans shot 45 percent from the field, including 9-of-32 from deep.

Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 31 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals, in 36 minutes. Luguentz Dort followed up with 14 points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals, while Jeremiah Robinson-Earl tallied 10 points, 13 rebounds, two steals and a block. The Thunder shot 37 percent from the field, including 12-of-38 from long range.
