T'Wolves Defeat Jazz, 118-108
The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the host Utah Jazz, 118-108, at Vivint Arena on Friday.

While there were eight lead changes in this game, Minnesota held the lead for all but a few minutes. Utah never led by more than two points, with Minnesota grabbing a game-high 15-point lead, thanks to a 33-22 second quarter. The Timberwolves shot 53 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range while holding the Jazz to 43 percent from the field and 30 percent from long range. Minnesota also out-assisted Utah, 30-22, while outscoring them in the paint, 54-42.

The Timberwolves (13-12) were led by D'Angelo Russell, tallying 30 points, three rebounds and two assists on 12-of-16 from the field. Rudy Gobert collected 22 points and 13 rebounds. Kyle Anderson accrued 15 points, seven rebounds, 12 assists and two steals, while Anthony Edwards amassed 14 points, six rebounds, two assists and three steals.

The Jazz (15-13) were led by Malik Beasley, totaling 23 points, four rebounds and two steals. Jordan Clarkson compiled 21 points, two rebounds and three assists. Nickeil Alexander-Walker generated 11 points, four rebounds and four assists, while Kelly Olynyk had 10 points, four rebounds and four assists. Mike Conley led the bench with 17 points and six assists.

Both teams play the second half of a back-to-back set on Saturday, with Minnesota staying on the road to play the Portland Trail Blazers and Utah facing the Denver Nuggets on the road as well.
