2025 Fantasy Outlook
Following a midseason trade from San Antonio to Chicago, Jones found himself in a favorable situation, albeit temporarily, before a season-ending foot injury ruled him out for the final 12 games. In his final 15 games before suffering the injury, Jones compiled averages of 12.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 three-pointers in 26.7 minutes per contest. Apparently, the Bulls saw enough in Jones to convince the brass that he deserved a crack at a regular rotation spot, signing him to a three-year, $24 million deal during the offseason. Having also parted ways with Lonzo Ball, it appears as though Jones is slated to come off the bench behind Josh Giddey, assuming the latter can come to terms on a new deal. Both Giddey and Coby White are coming off highly productive seasons, meaning Jones would need an injury to either one to allow him to play close to starter's minutes. Look for Jones to serve as an adequate backup, typically logging between 22 and 25 minutes per night. Read Past Outlooks
Won't go Sunday
Jones (ankle) is out for Sunday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Jones will miss his first game of the season due to a left ankle impingement. Coby White should see plenty of run in his season debut, and Jevon Carter could see extra run with Jones sidelined.

2022
Jones went back and forth between the starting unit and the bench for much of the 2023-24 season but ended the campaign on a solid note. He started each of his 48 appearances after Jan. 1, averaging a solid 11.3 points, 7.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds across 30.3 minutes per game in that span. The assists-per-game figure would be a career-high mark if he had posted it during an entire season. He also shot 38.8 percent from three-point range on 2.7 attempts per contest in a starting role, so it seemed he was finally primed to have a breakout season in 2024-25. However, the Spurs signed Chris Paul in free agency and added Stephon Castle with the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, so Jones is primed to spend another year as a backup point guard for a rebuilding squad. While there's no question the Spurs are making all the right moves to return to relevancy as soon as possible, having a backup role will not help Jones' cause to be a solid fantasy contributor. At this point, Jones won't have a lot of upside in any format as long as Paul and Castle remain healthy. Thus, Jones might be better suited to remain on waivers in most formats unless he finds a way to log consistent minutes in a starting role while the Spurs are shorthanded.
