2024 Fantasy Outlook
A 2023 sixth-round pick, Rodriguez didn't get double-digit snaps on offense until Week 11 last year but flashed upside once he did. He averaged 4.8 yards per carry, and his 2.4-yard average after contact would have been a top-five mark in the league if he'd seen enough volume to qualify. Rodriguez suffered a season-ending ankle injury Week 16, and while he should be healthy in time for training camp, he'll like be third on the depth chart behind Brian Robinson and Austin Ekeler. It is possible new offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury isn't as fond of Robinson as the old coaching staff was, and the 224-pound Rodriguez can offer a similar element of powerful running between the tackles. RANKS
Limited role against Steelers
Rodriguez rushed twice for four yards in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez was elevated from the Commanders' practice squad for the contest with Brian Robinson (hamstring) sidelined, however, the second-year running back played just five of Washington's 64 offensive snaps Sunday. Meanwhile, teammate Austin Ekeler handled the majority of the workload out of the backfield with 14 touches as the starter against Pittsburgh. Jeremy McNichols chipped in as well with four rushes of his own. Rodriguez is buried on the Washington depth chart and should remain far of the fantasy radar in Week 11 when the Commanders visit the Eagles.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Rodriguez landed in Washington in the sixth round of the 2023 Draft, after a prolific college career at Kentucky with 3,600 rushing yards and 33 TDs over the past four seasons. He only caught 20 passes, and a 4.52 40 at his pro day suggests the 224-pounder is more likely to be a power back than a big-play threat in the NFL. That could put him in play for some of the work 2022 third-rounder Brian Robinson got last season en route to a 205-797-2 rushing line in 12 games. The Commanders also still have Antonio Gibson, who got a career-high 58 targets last season despite competing with J.D. McKissic for passing-down snaps in the first half of the year.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Bumped down to third-string role
Rodriguez is expected to be Washington's third-string running back in 2024 after Austin Ekeler agreed to a two-year contract with the Commanders on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez showed some promise down the stretch in his rookie season, scoring two touchdowns in Week 16 against the Jets before being shut down for the final two games due to an ankle injury. The 2023 sixth-round draft pick presumably has the inside track on the third-string role once healthy, but Rodriguez is unlikely to leapfrog either Ekeler or Brian Robinson on the depth chart.
