2025 Fantasy Outlook
Loveland is considered a notch below Brock Bowers as a prospect despite being taken a few picks earlier -- 10th overall to the Bears. Fortunately, there’s plenty of room between Bowers and bust, after the 2024 first-round pick set rookie TE records for catches and yards. Loveland caught 56 passes for 582 yards and five TDs in 10 games for Michigan last season, with his slight dip in receiving yards (compared to 649 in 2023) a product of playing five fewer games than he had the year before. The raw receiving stats may not stand out, but that's largely because he ran fewer than 300 routes in each of his three seasons in run-first Michigan offenses. The per-route production was far more impressive, especially when accounting for age, with Loveland having put up 16-235-2 as an 18-year-old freshman and now set to play a full NFL season before turning 22. At 6-foot-5, 245 pounds, Loveland is considered a competent blocker in addition to being an excellent pass catcher, which should help him get on the field soon enough, although there are serious Year 1 workload concerns on a team that returns incumbent starting tight end Cole Kmet. Loveland underwent shoulder surgery in January on an injury that he played through last season, but that procedure isn’t expected to impact his Week 1 availability. Read Past Outlooks

Loveland (shoulder) is not participating in on-field work at rookie minicamp Friday as he continues to rehab from surgery undergone in January, Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Loveland, the 10th overall pick of April's draft, is present at rookie minicamp and building familiarity with Chicago's offensive scheme and new quarterback Caleb Williams (wrist), but the tight end's workout availability is currently limited to running and controlled lifting, per Bair. The rookie first-rounder is expected to be ready for increased participation in mandatory minicamp early June and to be fully cleared for training camp in July. Loveland is a capable blocker at 6-foot-6, 260-pounds, but he figures to make his largest impact as a mismatch in the receiving game, though DJ Moore, Rome Odunze and rookie second-round pick Luther Burden represent crowded competition for targets. Cole Kmet played 87 percent of snaps last season and has two years remaining on the four-year, $50 million deal he inked with Chicago in 2023, but Loveland boasts the draft capital and skillset to push for the No. 1 role before long.

Loveland is an excellent fit with the team, the Bears, that took him with the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Bucky Brooks of NFL.com opines.
ANALYSIS
The talented tight end out of Michigan will have a head coach who certainly appreciates the value of his position in Ben Johnson, who enjoyed plenty of success with Sam LaPorta during his time as the Lions' offensive coordinator. Brooks points out that the impressive skill-position depth the Bears enjoy in the form of DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Cole Kmet, Luther Burden and D'Andre Swift will also help Loveland by diverting plenty of defensive attention, and he adds the rookie's ball skills and sharp route-running will help him maximize those opportunities.
