2024 Fantasy Outlook
Allen was drafted in the fifth round by the Rams in 2023 and proceeded to spend his rookie season backing up Tyler Higbee. Allen caught 10 of 11 targets for 95 yards and one touchdown in 15 appearances. Higbee is expected to miss a significant chunk of 2024 after tearing his ACL in the playoffs, and the Rams signed Colby Parkinson to start while Higbee’s sidelined. Allen’s expected to remain in a backup role barring an injury to Parkinson, and the second-year tight end out of Clemson is in danger of slipping another rung down the depth chart if Higbee’s able to make it back in 2024. Allen played seven snaps on offense and 13 snaps on special teams during Sunday's 28-22 NFC divisional-round loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
The second-year tight end never got going during the 2024 campaign, managing just six catches for 39 yards despite increasing his number of snaps on offense from 182 in his rookie year to 292. Colby Parkinson, brought in to act as the starter, eventually slid into a timeshare with Allen and Hunter Long, before Tyler Higbee returned from ACL and MCL injuries to take over as the starter for the final few games of the season. Long is an unrestricted free agent, which will leave Allen and Parkinson vying for the backup role behind Higbee in 2025.

The Rams looked to bolster their depth at tight end in taking Allen with a fifth-round pick, and while the Clemson product stands tall at 6-foot-6, a smaller frame (245 pounds) and lack of speed may have contributed to his meager production in the college ranks, with an 88-1,039-12 line over 43 games. With little established talent behind starter Tyler Higbee, however, Allen may have a chance to earn a backup role as a rookie.
