Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
A 2016 third-round pick of the Patriots, Brissett is on his sixth team in the last six seasons, backing up Kyler Murray in Arizona. In eight appearances (five starts) with the Patriots in 2024, he again avoided throwing interceptions (one) but was sacked 18 times with a paltry 5.1 YPA. He eventually was replaced by rookie Drake Maye. Even if Brissett earns spot starts this year, he likely won't be more than a low-end option in two-QB formats. And the Cardinals don't have a lot of offensive weapons, outside of Marvin Harrison and Trey McBride. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Throws for over 300 yards Sunday
Brissett completed 33 of 49 pass attempts for 317 yards and a touchdown while taking three carries for 20 yards in Sunday's 27-24 loss to Jacksonville in overtime.
ANALYSIS
Brissett continued his gun-slinging ways by eclipsing 300 passing yards for the third time in six starts filling in for Kyler Murray (foot). The 32-year-old Brissett failed to extend his streak of throwing multiple touchdown passes to six games, but it was still another impressive effort from a fantasy perspective. Brissett did leave the game briefly in the second half to be evaluated by the medical staff after taking a big hit, but he promptly returned to action and finished the remainder of the game plus overtime without issue. The journeyman backup has already been named Arizona's starter for the remainder of the season, so fantasy managers who took a chance on Brissett during his current run as starter can feel comfortable continuing to roll him out on a weekly basis. The Cardinals will hit the road in Week 13 to face the Buccaneers, who currently sit in the bottom third of the league in terms yards allowed to opposing quarterbacks.

Brissett blew his chance to start last season in Washington when he injured a hamstring the week the Commanders finally tired of Sam Howell. This season, though, he could get another shot at the starting job after returning to New England where he played as a rookie in 2016. Brissett will compete with Drake Maye, the third pick in this year’s draft, for the Week 1 assignment. Maye might need some time to develop his mechanics and footwork, and the Patriots can afford to be patient, so Brissett could begin the season under center. The problem for either quarterback, though, is a lack of playmakers in the New England offense. Kendrick Borne, who is coming off an ACL injury, is the No. 1 WR and tight end Hunter Henry is probably the best target. That doesn’t make Brissett, who figures to be usurped by Maye at some point anyway, a great option even in two-QB leagues.
