2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
A third-round pick in April, Milroe won’t challenge new Seahawks QB Sam Darnold for the starting job (not yet, anyway), but he could get 5-10 snaps a game in packages designed to exploit his elite athleticism and rushing ability. This isn’t Taysom Hill 2.0, though. The team views him as a quarterback, not simply a gadget player. Milroe has plenty of standout traits -- exceptional arm strength, size (6-2, 217), smarts (Academic Heisman) and tremendous speed. He was clocked at 22.5 mph on a TD run last year -- faster than any run in the NFL in 2024 -- and set an Alabama QB record with 20 rushing scores. Milroe’s inconsistent accuracy is the issue, as he often had poor ball placement on routine throws. On attempts of 20-plus yards last season, however, he threw 10 TDs and no interceptions. The only QB with a better TD/INT ratio on such throws was No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward (12/0). A handful of plays each game likely won’t offer much fantasy value, but Milroe’s situation is certainly worth tracking. Read Past Outlooks
Seattle swoops in
The Seahawks selected Milroe in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 92nd overall.
ANALYSIS
This is one of the most intriguing picks of Day 2, if not the entire draft thus far. Milroe is an extremely polarizing prospect. His proponents point to his undeniable tools; Milroe is well-built with a cannon arm and 4.4 speed. His detractors point to erratic accuracy and an inability to put touch on short and intermediate passes. Milroe started for two years at Alabama, completing 65 percent of his passes at 9.4 YPA with 39 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. He also ran for 1,257 yards and 32 touchdowns in those seasons. His 'wow' plays are up there with any quarterback in the class. There are moments in which he looks unstoppable, either with the deep ball or as a runner. There are also several concerning starts on his resume, such as the 2024 Oklahoma game, which explain why he was available at this stage. With Sam Darnold under a lucrative contract, the Seahawks can be patient with Milroe's development and see if they can turn him into a future starter.

Will be developed as QB
Milroe is viewed by the Seahawks as "a quarterback through and through," according to head coach Mike Macdonald, and not a candidate to be converted into a Taysom Hill-like gadget role, Michael-Shawn Dugar of the Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Alabama star was selected in the third round of the 2025 Draft by Seattle, and while Macdonald acknowledged that Milroe could have some packages built for him as a rookie that would allow him to use his legs and scrambling ability, he'll still be lining up as a QB. "He's going to be trained to play quarterback for us. When he's in there, he's going to be playing quarterback. But the athleticism is going to come to life when he's on the field," Macdonald said last week.
