Jalen Milroe

22-Year-Old QuarterbackQB
2025 Fantasy Outlook
A third-round pick in April, Milroe won’t challenge new Seahawks QB Sam Darnold for the starting job (not yet, anyway), but he could get a few snaps per game in packages designed to exploit his elite athleticism and rushing ability. This isn’t Taysom Hill 2.0, though. The team views him as a quarterback, not simply a gadget player. Milroe has plenty of standout traits -- exceptional arm strength, size (6-2, 217), smarts (Academic Heisman) and tremendous speed. He was clocked at 22.5 mph on a TD run last year -- faster than any run in the NFL in 2024 -- and set an Alabama QB record with 20 rushing scores. Milroe’s accuracy is the issue, as he often had poor ball placement on routine throws. On the other hand, he threw 10 TDs and no interceptions last season on passes 20-plus yards downfield. The only QB with a better TD:INT ratio on such throws was No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward (12:0). Milroe may not get playing time early on apart from gadget plays, but he's athletic enough to provide fantasy value if he eventually makes starts. Read Past Outlooks

Minimal passing production in debut

August 7, 2025
Milroe completed six of 10 passes for 61 yards while rushing three times for 38 yards in Thursday's 23-23 preseason tie against the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Milroe played the entire second half after Drew Lock played the first half. The rookie third-round pick's muted passing performance in his NFL debut suggests he may not be ready to challenge Sam Darnold or Lock for one of the top two spots on the depth chart, though Milroe put his rushing ability on display with a 27-yard run in the fourth quarter. Milroe will likely see significant action against the Chiefs on Aug. 15 in Seattle's second preseason game.

QB3 during OTAs
QBSeattle Seahawks
June 7, 2025
Milroe has worked mostly with the third-string unit during OTAs, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Seahawks took Milroe in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft with the expectation that he would spend his rookie season adjusting to the pro level while learning behind Sam Darnold. With Darnold and Drew Lock getting the bulk of reps with the starters, Milroe has mostly worked with the backups and players looking to earn a depth spot on the 53-man roster. Head coach Mike Macdonald said Thursday that Milroe will have the opportunity to earn regular snaps and that the Alabama quarterback will be used as a dual-threat quarterback when on the field during preseason play, per Dugar.
