2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Davis started 36 games for the Commanders after they drafted him 19th overall in 2021, but he was cut during the 2024 season and posted just 18 tackles in nine games split between the Commanders and Vikings. He'll compete for a spot at linebacker with the Jets, but Davis' volatile play so far suggests he could be anywhere from a starter in 2025 to failing to make the team entirely. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Let go by Jets
The Jets released Davis on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Davis re-signed with the team in March but was unable to earn a spot on the final roster. The 2021 first-round pick racked up 18 tackles (12 solo) across nine games with both the Vikings and Commanders last season and will now look to catch on with a new team.

The Commanders took a risk back in 2021, selecting Davis in the first round after he had just one season as a full-time starter in college but put up incredible numbers at the combine. His 4.47 speed and 42-inch vertical jump haven't been much use in the pros, with Davis struggling both in pass coverage and against the run. He's been better as a blitzer, but now he's looking at a big reduction in snap count after the Commanders signed LBs Bobby Wagner and Frankie Luvu this offseason. Davis doesn't figure to get much playing time in nickel packages if Wagner and Luvu are healthy.

ANALYSIS
The Commanders aggressively added to their linebacker corps this offseason, leaving Davis' position in flux after was drafted as a middle linebacker back in 2021. He is adjusting well to the new role and is reportedly excited about the switch. Davis has only seven sacks across his first 45 games in the NFL, but that should change in 2024.
