2025 Fantasy Outlook
Verse, a first-round pick (something the Rams haven't used since 2016), was a dominant force at linebacker last season, winning Defensive Rookie of the Year with 66 tackles, including 4.5 sacks, two pass defenses, a pair of forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries while playing in all 17 games. Alongside Byron Young, the duo look to be anchors for a talented and young Rams' front seven along with DTs Braden Fiske and Kobie Turner. With third-round rookie Josaiah Stewart in the wings as a backup, Verse seems set up nicely for an outstanding sophomore campaign. Read Past Outlooks

Verse, the Rams' first first-round pick since 2016, was one of the top pass rushers in the ACC for the Seminoles, tallying 87 tackles and 17.0 sacks over his two seasons at Florida State. He boasts premier physical attributes for an outside linebacker, and while he won't instantly replicate the production of the recently retired Aaron Donald in Year 1, Verse should be an immediate starter in the pass rush alongside Byron Young.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Controversial inclusion in top 10
Verse was ranked the league's 10th-best edge rusher based on votes from a combination of NFL executives, scouts and coaches, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Voters were split on Verse's inclusion in the list, as he nudged out honorable mentions Brian Burns and Nik Bonitto in a tiebreaker. Verse took home Defensive Rookie of the Year honors after leading all rookies with 18 quarterback hits and 50 quarterback pressures over 17 regular-season games, but his 4.5 sacks and 17.5 pass rush win percentage were nothing to write home about. While Verse has the potential to be a top-10 edge rusher moving forward, detractors believe his inclusion in the 2025 list is due more to his future projections than his current ability relative to more established peers.
