March 13, 2024
Detroit will not tender Jacobs (hamstring), who will now become a free agent, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Jacobs played nearly every defensive snap for the Lions in 2023 before going down with a hamstring injury in Week 15, but it now looks like he might be playing in a different uniform in 2024. He'll likely draw the interest of multiple teams as the offseason progresses.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
A couple of years ago, it would be stunning to think that the undrafted Jacobs would outperform 2020 No. 3 overall pick Jeff Okudah. Entering 2023, Okudah has been traded to Atlanta for peanuts and Jacobs is not only set for a starting role but a contract extension, too. While Detroit did give Cameron Sutton a three-year, $33 million deal to come in as the No. 1 cornerback, Jacobs should be busy as well after his return to an every-down role in 2022 directly coincided with the Lions' stark second-half defensive improvement. The wild card is Emmanuel Moseley, who is bouncing back from a torn ACL and could push Jacobs for reps when healthy.
Jacobs was thoroughly impressive for an undrafted rookie in 2021, but a torn ACL has tempered expectations for him in advance of the 2022 campaign.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could land in Carolina
CBFree Agent
July 22, 2024
Jacobs will visit with the Panthers later this week, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The cornerback spent the last three seasons with the Lions and started 12 games last year, recording three interceptions and 55 tackles in 15 regular-season contests. Jacobs could provide some depth for a Carolina secondary that has little experience at corner behind starters Jaycee Horn and Dane Jackson.
