Jordan Davis

Jordan Davis

24-Year-Old Defensive TackleDT
Philadelphia Eagles
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Davis didn't play a particularly large role as a rookie after being taken 13th overall in the 2022 Draft, missing four games and playing just 20 percent of the Eagles' defensive snaps. His snap share increased to 45 percent in his second season, and his numbers took a jump as a result. He bumped up from 18 to 45 tackles and from zero to 2.5 sacks while also forcing a fumble. The defensive tackle still didn't exactly fill up the stat sheet, but with more snaps available now that Fletcher Cox has retired, Davis could take another step forward in Year 3. Read Past Outlooks

Selected 13th overall by the Eagles in the 2022 Draft, Davis joined a deep defensive line, limiting opportunities in his rookie season. He missed four games with an ankle injury and started just five times, finishing seventh in defensive snaps among Eagles D-linemen. He didn't exactly turn heads when available, recording 18 tackles, including one for loss and no sacks. Javon Hargrave left in free agency, and Fletcher Cox isn't getting any younger, so there could be reps available for Davis, but he'll also have to fight for them with former Georgia teammate Jalen Carter, who was taken ninth overall in this year's draft.
The Eagles used one of their two first-round selections in the 2022 NFL Draft to move up to the No. 13 slot and select Davis. The defensive tackle out of Georgia is a mountain of a man at 6-6 and 341 pounds, but he's not merely a space-eater in the middle; he is an elite athlete. At the combine, Davis scored above the 95th percentile among all defensive tackles in the 40-yard dash (4.78) and broad jump (123.0 inches). The question with Davis is whether he can remain effective with an increase in snap count, but his physical ability on a play-to-play basis is beyond question. As a rookie, Davis will get to learn the nuances of NFL defensive line play from Fletcher Cox.

Shows promise this preseason
DTPhiladelphia Eagles
August 27, 2022
Davis has performed well this preseason despite issues with his cardio and endurance over extended defensive series, according to Nick Baumgardner of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Davis showed stretches of dominance both as a pass rusher and run stuffer early on in games this preseason. However, pre-draft worries about the 336-pound defensive tackle's ability to stay on the field over the course of his games have popped up at times, per Baumgardner. If he can keep from burning himself out, Davis should become a force to be reckoned with for opposing interior offensive linemen in the years to come.
