2022 Fantasy Outlook
After being waived by Tennessee midseason, Reynolds was a breath of fresh air for a bottom-feeding Lions receiving corps in the second half of the year. The instant success he found likely had something to do with the fact that he spent his first four seasons in the league in Los Angeles with Jared Goff. However, Reynolds had almost no competition for snaps at perimeter receiver. Now, he has to compete with 2018 second-round pick DJ Chark and 2022 No. 12 pick Jameson Williams. While Williams could miss games to begin the year while he works his way back from a college ACL injury, Reynolds largely will have to fend off Quintez Cephus and Kalif Raymond just to keep hold of the No. 4 spot on the depth chart. ANALYSIS
Opening the year as the No. 3 wideout behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and DJ Chark, Reynolds had a handful of big games early on before suffering through a mid-season back injury. While Reynolds worked his way back into the mix down the stretch, by that time Jameson Williams also was healthy enough to play and, consequently, steal snaps from Reynolds. While the Texas A&M product technically remains under contract to return to his complementary role in 2023, it is possible that Detroit will consider saving nearly $4 million against the salary cap -- while making room for Williams to make a second-year leap -- by letting Reynolds go this offseason.

To offset the offseason departures of Corey Davis and Adam Humphries, the Titans signed Reynolds in free agency and then traded for Julio Jones in June. Reynolds had by far his best season in the league in 2020 by racking up 52 receptions for 618 yards after spending the majority of his career on the back end of a logjam on the wide receiver depth chart in Los Angeles. Reynolds will enter Tennessee with the potential for steady complementary role, as he appears to be third in line for targets behind A.J. Brown and Jones. After 18 and 20 percent of his snaps came in the slot respectively over the last two seasons, it would make sense for him to maintain a significant role in that regard, with Brown and Jones the most likely candidates to work as the top two receivers on the outside.
Set to battle for playing time with 2020 second-round selection Van Jefferson, Reynolds finds himself in a make-or-break season with Los Angeles. Reynolds has received semi-regular stints of playing time in each of his first three years in the league, but the 25-year-old receiver has failed to fully capitalize on his opportunities. He's a slim 6-3, 196, but his athleticism has enabled him to record 14 catches of 20-plus yards the past two seasons. Plus, he was billed as a potential red-zone weapon after scoring 12 touchdowns as a senior at Texas A&M during the 2016 campaign. Entering the final season of his rookie contract, Reynolds will be given another opportunity early on, but he'll have to impress to prevent Jefferson from cutting into his playing time and/or leapfrogging him entirely on the depth chart.
Reynolds benefited from Robert Woods missing time with a shoulder injury in 2017, and Cooper Kupp's knee injury last season also opened the door for the Texas A&M product to make a fantasy impact as a sophomore. However, the 6-3 Reynolds has failed to fully capitalize on his opportunity in consecutive seasons and projects to open 2019 fourth on the depth chart behind Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp. Still, it's too early to completely write off Reynolds, and if he's propelled into semi-consistent offensive snaps, he's flashed fantasy potential.
Coming out of Texas A&M last spring, the 6-3 Reynolds profiled as a potential impact contributor near the goal line. However, he wound up getting only a few opportunities there and ultimately managed just one touchdown on eight red-zone targets. Things could be different in 2018 now that he has a professional offseason under his belt as well as the fact the Rams roster markedly improved this offseason. With that said, the upside here is maybe three touchdowns and a couple hundred receiving yards as long as he remains buried on the depth chart.
After posting an excellent 2016 season with Texas A&M (61 receptions for 1,039 yards and 12 touchdowns), Reynolds impressed at the combine with a 4.52-second 40-yard dash, 37-inch vertical, 124-inch broad jump and 6.83-second three-cone drill. He's a slim 6-3 at just 194 pounds but has the ball skills to be an end-zone threat immediately. Additionally, Reynolds also boasts the straight-line speed to spread the field. Having said that, any illusions he'd carve out a role were quelled when the Rams acquired Sammy Watkins in the midst of the preseason, making it difficult to earn snaps with wide receivers Robert Woods, Tavon Austin and fellow rookie Cooper Kupp also in the corps.
